Route and Itinerary

The 2017 Great Waterfront Trail Adventure (GWTA) is a popular annual 7-day cycling holiday showcasing a different section of the 2000 km Great Lakes Waterfront Trail every year.

This year's GWTA will celebrate Canada's 150th birthday with a ride from National Park to National Urban Park. Join us as we ride a total of 530 km over 7 days along the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail from Point Pelee National Park on Lake Erie, to the Rouge National Urban Park on the shores of Lake Ontario, Toronto. The distance between the campsites each day will be 40-105km; you will have time to explore the communities, two of Canada's flagship National Parks, shop, taste the craft beers, local wines and foods, learn about the history, and dip your feet in the waters of two Great Lakes.

If you would like a shorter ride on any day, there will be shuttle buses at designated locations along the way to carry you and your bike to our overnight location.

SMILE--The GWTA is thrilled to welcome back Simon Wilson, an award-winning photojournalist (and avid cyclist!) based in Hamilton, Ontario as our Tour Photographer! www.simonwilson.ca
