Making the Connection: Welcome Kiosk and Trail Signage Installed at Quebec Border

Last July the Trust announced funding from the Ministry of Tourism to install trail signage and construct a welcome kiosk at the border of Ontario and Quebec. The Trust is pleased to announce that the Township of South Glengarry has completed construction of the kiosk and trailhead signs will be installed in the structure in the spring. The funding also included the installation of blue tourism signs promoting both the Waterfront Trail and la Route verte on the road at the border of Ontario and Quebec.

Waterfront Trail Alert and Waterfront Trail Welcome signs installed by Velo Quebec in Riviere Beaudette and inside the Ontario/Quebec Boundary

Welcome kiosk, constructed and installed on land provided by the County of South Glengarry.

A trailhead sign depicting regional mapping details as wll as a literature rack for the local trail map have been added to the site.

Together the kiosk and signage will provide trail users with a well marked and welcoming eastern gateway to Ontario’s Waterfront Trail.

The Trust would like to thank the Ontario Ministry of Tourism for their support of this project.
