Great
Waterfront Trail Adventure Tour Updates:
August 22, 2008
2009 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
We are happy to announce that registration
is open for the 2009 tour! The second annual Great Waterfront
Trail Adventure tour will run from July 4-11,
2009 starting in Niagara-on-the-Lake and finishing
at the Quebec border. While the itineraries have not
been finalized, we are working hard with local communities
to develop next year's set of overnights, meals, rest
stops and community events. While some details will
change, a glimpse at last year's route
and itinerary will give you an idea of the wide
range of experiences you can expect as you visit the
diverse and vibrant communities along the Waterfront
Trail.

PRINTABLE ITINERARIES
Some people told us they were having trouble printing
the daily itineraries for the tour. To address this,
we've added a "Print this itinerary" button
at the bottom of each daily itinerary. Please be aware
that we continue to update the itineraries as newer
information comes in so you may want to wait until just
before the tour to print them out.

GWTA FORUM
Waterfront Trail users and Great Waterfront Trail
Adventurers can now communicate with one another. A
group has been created at mapmyride.com to share Trail
experiences, highlights, and upcoming trips. It is also
a great resource to share training information for the
upcoming Great Waterfront Trail Adventure and to connect
with other participants to share transportation to the
start and from the end of the tour. Check it out at:
http://www.mapmyride.com/community/groups/1141785104.
Please note, you will need to register with MapMyRide
to post a message on the forum. You can register at

TRAINING
If you are looking for ideas on how to prepare for
the Great Waterfront Trail Adventure to increase your
fitness check out the training
section of our website. The more comfortable you are
on your bike the more fun you will have on the tour
and the programs offer a guideline for beginner cyclists
and young families to the more experienced riders. The
forum
can be used to find other people to train with and organize
cycling groups to prepare for the Great Waterfront Trail
Adventure.
Please note that the registration
fee will be going up on May 1st so register now!
