FEATURED FESTIVAL: Oakville Waterfront Festival

One of Ontario’s Top 50 Festivals, the Oakville Waterfront Festival offers fun and games for all ages. Lumberjacks will compete, musicians will put on a concert, there will be science and environmental fun, a craft show and sale, and even a theme park!

Location: Coronation Park in downtown Oakville
Admission: $11 to $15
Parking: A free shuttle bus will pick you up at Sheridan College, or the Oakville and Bronte Go stations.

GET ACTIVE

Ride from downtown Oakville to Joshua Creek along the Waterfront Trail. Located on the North side of Lakeshore Rd., across from Arkendo Dr. The trail provides a wooded sanctuary, with a creek running through it and dirt paths. (14-15 km return)
Location: Start at Tannery Park and Ride East along the Waterfront Trail to Joshua Creek on the North side at Arkendo and Lakeshore.

ARTS AND CULTURE

Offering beautiful gardens, benches to comfortably sit and admire Lake Ontario, and a gallery to spend an inspiring afternoon, Gairloch Gardens offers a little something for almost everyone. Mad, mad, mad, mad world is on display until June 3, 2007. Artist Monika Napier has transformed extension cords, inviting you to speculate, discuss, and debate their purpose and meaning.

HISTORY

The Oakville Historical Society offers a variety of walking tours from June to October, including Ghost Walks. The Main Street and Heritage tours start from 110 King Street while the Trafalger Road walking tour begins at 262 Randall Street. Each tour lasts 2 hours and information on times may be found on their web-site listed below.

Parking: Free street parking along Navy St. or metered parking on Lakeshore Rd.
